User wants to maintain the email categories(given below) along with the email addresses in customer master.
There will be predefined email categories like below.
1) General email address for a business partner
2) Digital invoice from ERP
3) Automated order confirmation
4) E-commerce confirmation
5) Retail website DIY Netherlands
Standard SAP provides the communication method ‘INT’ to maintain email address for customer, which eventually stores email, communication type in tables ADR6, ADRT, etc.
But the standard communication method ‘INT’ does not provide any field to maintain email categories.
So the idea is to have a new custom communication method say ‘ZPE’ similar to ‘INT’ which will update all DB tables (which the standard is doing for ‘INT’) like ADR6, ADRT,etc.
I have created new communication method 'ZPE' in table TSAC and designed screen similar to standard communication method 'INT'. For storing the email categories, I added F4 help in the Notes field which will allow user to select one of the email category.
But the problem is it is not allowing to update table ADRT with new communiaction method 'ZPE'.
