You ASSUMED correctly. I thought I spelled it out in my title ie "SAP ASE Developer Edition". i didn't elaborate on the url since I didn't think there were multiple places to download the SAP ASE 16 Developers Edition. I didn't specify the file name since I didn't download the file as of the initial posting. A couple of day had passed before the post was approved. Until that time and the initial responses, I ventured out, clicked on the download button, which gave me a choice of Linux or a Windows download. I answered my own question, kind of. Still don't know which version of windows I can run the executable on. Found the install guide for ASE 16 SP02 but I can't open the pdf since SAP seems to be doing some maintenance on their side.
Agreed, SAP should be more open like the old Sybase.com. Something they don't realize is helping the user community helps SAP in the long run.
