I was wondering the same thing.
This would also give us an alternative to post a table over XS OData as well.
I read in the SAP HANA Development Guide that SAP pushes the use of batch requests for multiple line post operations.
When creating services using a Gateway server (SAP) and normal ECC backend, I would create an entity with a relation & association to itself. This way I could post multiple lines of the same type as a property of that type.
I tried to create a stored procedure in which I can process multiple lines coming from an input, which is possible and works. But I'm stuck at the part where you define the deep type in the XS OData model and wheter it's possible to create a table type (on HANA) with a deep structure that matches the one you defined in the XS OData model. This way I could process a deep type POST request in a stored procedure.
This all just to enrich your question and hopefully get an answer myself.
