1- How will I define 2 routings for a single material? Is it by using Group in routings initial screen(ca01) ? How will I define that Group and assign it to the material?
Ans : As already explained By experts . It depends on that you are using alternately OR Qota Based. I would talk about if you use one routing alternately with the process of production Version. In Alternate Routing Group Remain same But Couter of group changes.

NOW MATERIAL HAVE TWO ROUTING WITH SAME GROUP AND DIFFERENT COUNTER.
NOW SET THIS ROUTE IN MATERIAL.

All field mention in Production version is important Like Basic data ,Planning data , Bill of materail.
Not as you can see ,In material ZFIN1 , Production version PV1 is active which will futher trigger counter 2 or operation packing. So now when you will create production order system will trigger Counter 2 which is active. You can also mainatin production version through C223. Use Button check for any inconsistency . .check status should be in green.
