Ok, I'll take your word under consideration, and test things out. But like I said, my experience has been that whenever we matched up the bits on the client, it then worked (I've seen this several times). I know it gets kind of tricky with the Java versions, but again, it seems to make sense to match up the bits on the client, and not have both.
That being said, my recent experience was
- everything was quiet for quite some time, with 64-bit Java / 64-bit machine
- then I started getting error messages that were irritating but not debilitating . . . this was fixed by installing latest version of Java - 32 bit - which fixed my problem and now all is quiet. BUT - I still have 64-bit Java, so I'm not 100% sure.
I could test this by un-installing both bit versions and see what happens . . . but I need to get some work done.
Also, what you're saying is not specified in the supported platforms document, unless I missed it.
Thanks !
